English people belonging to the Anglican Communion — historically or in the present day.

For almost all English Anglicans this specifically means belonging to the Church of England, the oldest church in the communion and the established church in England.
From the mid−1530s to the 19th century, except during the reign of Mary I (1553-58), political power in England was almost entirely in the hands of people who were at least nominally Anglican. Anglicans had privileges in and were dominant in many other fields of English culture.
