May I suggest the following photo, which (to declare an interest) I uploaded, though am not the author of. It shows a scene from the 2004 production of La traviata by Fife Opera which is based in Kirkcaldy in Scotland and is in my view worthy on the basis of the interest of the action, the depth of the colours and the composition. I must have worked through hundreds before alighting on this one. Orthorhombic (talk) 15:24, 13 April 2009 (UTC)Reply

    • "When Burns wrote A Man’s A Man, he was doing more than creating a song. He was locating and preserving the DNA of Scottishness – a belief in equality beyond any limitation of class, status or wealth. It was appropriate that it was sung at the opening of our parliament. The essential Scottishness, of course, is not a matter of purity of blood. It is an amalgam of all people who have come to live here. European, Asian, South American, whatever. Scottishness is not a pedigree lineage, it’s a mongrel tradition.". •   Request Clarification – could you please provide the quote you wish to nominate for "Selected Quote"? ~ Anthøny 21:56, 12 August 2007 (UTC)Reply Oops - I thought I had replied to this already. The quote starts at 'When' and ends at 'tradition'. Ben MacDui (Talk) 09:33, 22 September 2007 (UTC)Reply Selected biography edit Basic criteria edit
