She later joined Nottingham Central Junior Television Workshop.[6] She trained in acting at the Carlton Workshops.[7]

In a 2018 interview about her personal style, Mohindra said that she had been a tomboy whilst growing up, sometimes wearing her brother's hand-me-down clothes.[8]

CareerEdit

Mohindra played the role of Rani Chandra in The Sarah Jane Adventures on CBBC, where her character is a few years younger than her. Mohindra played a small part in an episode of teen TV series The Inbetweeners,[9] and appears briefly as Sophie Martin in episode twelve of Law & Order: UK.[10] She also appears on Beaver Falls as Saima. She guest starred in an episode of Legends of Tomorrow as Punk Charlie. She initially declined the role of Nadia in Bodyguard until learning there would be more depth to her character than she assumed.[11]

ITV drama Wild Bill features Mohindra as a regular lead, opposite Rob Lowe.[12][13]

She appeared as Queen Skithra in the 12th series of Doctor Who, broadcast in 2020.[14]

In May 2020, Mohindra wrote People Under the Moon, a short film set during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown starring Gwilym Lee as a medic who joins a dating app on the eve of lockdown.[citation needed]

Mohindra played the role of Surgeon Lieutenant Tiffany Docherty in the 2021 BBC One drama Vigil. Upon release, it was the most watched new drama that year from the BBC with 10.2 million viewers. She is a central character in the 2022 Sky TV sci-fi drama The Lazarus Project.[15]
