Arzuiyeh (Persian: ارزوئيه, also romanized as Arzū’īyeh, Arzoo’eyeh, Orzū’īyeh, ‘Orsū’īyeh, and Ozū’īyeh; also known as Ārzū; formerly Shahmaran)[3] is a city in the Central District of Arzuiyeh County, Kerman province, Iran, serving as capital of both the county and the district.[4] It is also the administrative center for Arzuiyeh Rural District.[5]

In 1997, the village of Shahmaran in Baft County was elevated to the status of the city of Arzuiyeh.[6] At the 2006 National Census, its population was 5,668 in 1,286 households, when it was in the former Arzuiyeh District of Baft County).[7] The following census in 2011 counted 7,555 people in 1,888 households,[8] by which time the district had been separated from the county in the establishment of Arzuiyeh County.[4] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 6,868 people in 1,958 households.[2]
