Bykovsky District (Russian: Бы́ковский райо́н) is an administrative[1] district (raion), one of the thirty-three in Volgograd Oblast, Russia. As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Bykovsky Municipal District.[7] It is located in the east of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,410 square kilometers (1,320 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Bykovo.[2] Population: 27,055 (2010 Russian census);[4] 28,572 (2002 Census);[9] 27,151 (1989 Soviet census).[10] The population of Bykovo accounts for 28.5% of the district's total population.[4]
