The Cadet Wing Commander (AFCW/CC or Wing Commander) of the United States Air Force Academy is a firstie (senior cadet) responsible for the daily operations of the 4,000+ member Air Force Cadet Wing.[1] The Wing Commander reports directly to the Commandant of Cadets and advises him/her on major command decisions. The Wing Commander supervises the Vice Wing Commander, Wing Director of Operations, and four Cadet Group Commanders, who in turn each supervise ten Cadet Squadron Commanders. The Wing Commander also commands the wing staff who assist him/her with the creation and implementation of command policy. Among cadets, the Wing Commander is referred to as the “Wing King” or “Wing Queen”.
