Dukhovnitsky District (Russian: Духовницкий райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[7] district (raion), one of the thirty-eight in Saratov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,000 square kilometers (770 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (a work settlement) of Dukhovnitskoye.[2] Population: 12,951 (2010 Census);[4] 15,300 (2002 Census);[10] 16,511 (1989 Soviet census).[11] The population of Dukhovnitskoye accounts for 41.2% of the district's total population.[4]
