Evren, formerly Çıkınağıl, is a municipality and district of Ankara Province, Turkey.[2] Its area is 369 km2,[3] and its population is 40,625 (2022).[1] It is 178 km from the city of Ankara. Its elevation is 887 m.[4]

This small remote town on the banks of Hirfanlı reservoir, was formerly known as Çıkınağıl, and was renamed after Kenan Evren, former president of Turkey. In November 2019, Ak Party proposed renaming the city back to Çıkınağıl.[5]
