Gliese 784 is a single[5] red dwarf star of spectral type M0V, located in constellation Telescopium, 20.1 light-years from Earth.[1] It is much younger than Sun at 0.85±0.4 billion years.[5]

History of observations

Gliese 784 is known at least from 1900, when it was included in Cordoba Durchmusterung (CD) catalogue by John M. Thome. The corresponding designation is CD -45 13677.[6][7]

Planetary system

In June 2019 one planet candidate were reported in orbit around Gliese 784.[17] Since 2020, the star is suspected to be surrounded by the disk of cold dust, but the signal may be also due to the background extragalactic source.[18]
