The Himachal Pradesh Football Association was founded on 1971 with the objective of fostering the growth of football in the state. Over the years, it has become a vital institution in the sporting landscape of Himachal Pradesh, contributing significantly to the advancement of football at both the amateur and professional levels.

The HPFA is the governing body of football in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India. It is a permanent member of the All India Football Federation (AIFF) and is registered under the Societies Act. The HPFA organizes various football tournaments and activities in the state, such as the Himachal Quiz Competition, the Futsal Himachal Introductory Webinar, and the HPFA Junior Boys Camp. It also sends state teams for national competitions, such as the Santosh Trophy and the Senior Women’s National Football Championship. The HPFA has 32 approved clubs, 12 registered districts, and 4 grounds in the state. The current president of the HPFA is Mr. Sunil Sharma and the honorary secretary is Mr. Deepak Sharma.
