Kalateh Rudbar (Persian: کلاته رودبار, also Romanized as Kalāteh Rūdbār; formerly, Kalateh (Persian: كلاته), also Romanized as Kalāteh)[3] is a city in the Central District of Damghan County, Semnan province, Iran, serving as the administrative center for Rudbar Rural District. The previous capital of the rural district was Dibaj.[4]

At the 2006 census, its population was 2,826 in 711 households, when it was a village in Rudbar Rural District.[5] The following census in 2011 counted 3,146 people in 881 households.[6] The latest census in 2016 showed a population of 4,611 people in 1,479 households,[2] by which time the village of Kalateh had been renamed Kalateh Rudbar and elevated to the status of a city.[7]
