The 15959 / 15960 & 15961 / 15962 Kamrup Express is a daily Express train which connects Howrah (Kolkata) in West Bengal with Dibrugarh, a major town in upper Assam via Kalna, Katwa, Azimganj, Malda Town, New Jalpaiguri, Falakata, New Cooch Behar, Kokrajhar, New Bongaigaon, Rangiya etc. 15959/60 runs via Guwahati, Lumding & New Tinsukia & 15961/62 runs via Rangapara, North Lakhimpur. Originally the train ran between Howrah and Guwahati (which is the district headquarters of Kamrup district, Assam), hence the name. Later it was extended to Dibrugarh Town after the successful conversion of GuwahatiLumdingDibrugarh from meter gauge to broad gauge. Now the train has been divided in 2 pairs respectively with two routes.1.15959/60 runs Via GHY-LMG-DBRG.2.15961/62 runs via RNY-RPAN-NLP-DBRG through Bogibeel Bridge Vice-Versa. Change in route edit

Since Dibrugarh-Howrah Kamrup Express is a daily train, but between Rangiya and Dibrugarh of Assam, all other days the train uses the Lumding–Dibrugarh section via Kamakhya-Guwahati route, but the Monday and Thursday departed train from Howrah uses the Rangiya–Murkongselek section route which runs via Bogibeel Bridge, the route is as follows:

15959/15960 is hauled by a Diesel Loco Shed, Siliguri-based WDP-4D locomotive from Dibrugarh to Guwahati and an Electric Loco Shed, Howrah-based WAP-7 locomotive completes the journey from Guwahati to Howrah and vice versa.

15961/15962 is hauled by a Diesel Loco Shed, Siliguri-based WDP-4D locomotive from Dibrugarh to Rangiya Jn. and an Electric Loco Shed, Howrah-based WAP-7 locomotive completes the journey from Rangiya Jn. to Howrah and vice versa.
