Krasnoyarsky District (Russian: Красноя́рский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[7] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Samara Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northern central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 2,310 square kilometers (890 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a selo) of Krasny Yar.[2] Population: 54,497 (2010 Census);[4] 55,027 (2002 Census);[10] 50,945 (1989 Soviet census).[11] The population of Krasny Yar accounts for 14.6% of the district's total population.[4]
