Kumyonsky District (Russian: Кумёнский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the thirty-nine in Kirov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the center of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,911 square kilometers (738 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Kumyony.[1] Population: 17,350 (2010 Russian census);[3] 19,472 (2002 Census);[8] 21,445 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Kumyony accounts for 27.8% of the district's total population.[3]
