It is found in Cameroon, Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Kenya, Nigeria, South Africa, Eswatini, Tanzania, and Uganda. Its natural habitats are tropical or subtropical moist lowland and montane forests, dry grassland, and arable land.
