Litchfield High currently enrolls students from Bantam, Northfield, East Litchfield, and Litchfield. The school gym, designed by Marcel Breuer, is currently featured on the Smithsonian's website for its unique architecture.[5]
On June 29, 2022, Warren, Morris, Goshen and Litchfield voted to merge their school systems, creating a new Region 20.[6] The Litchfield High School building will serve as the Middle School (Grades 6-8) for the new region, when it begins in 2025.[7] It is the only high school in the town of Litchfield and serves students in grades 9th-12th. Established in 1901.

At Litchfield High School, students have access to a comprehensive curriculum that includes Advanced Placement courses in literature, calculus, biology, U.S. history, and statistics. The school offers a range of electives including art, music, agriculture, and foreign language.
Litchfield High School is known for its strong academic programs and consistently high test scores.[citation needed] According to the state Department of Education, in the Connecticut Academic Performance Test (CAPT), Litchfield High School students have scored above state averages in nearly all subjects.[citation needed] In 2019, Litchfield High School was ranked in the top 20% of high schools in Connecticut by Niche, which rates schools based on academic and student life data.[citation needed]
Athletics edit
Litchfield High School offers a variety of competitive sports programs for its students. These include soccer, cross country, golf, basketball, track and field, baseball, softball, and tennis. The school is a member of the Berkshire League, and its athletic teams compete against other local high schools in the region.

Litchfield High School has produced multiple notable alumni, including:
- Josephine Roche: a social activist, suffragist, and politician. She was the first woman to run for governor of Colorado in 1934.
- Nathaniel Buzolic: an Australian actor best known for his roles on the television series The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legends of Tomorrow.
- BenDeLaCreme: a drag queen, burlesque performer, and comedian who competed on season six of RuPaul's Drag Race and season three of RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars.
