Matt Pietrek

Summary

Matt Pietrek (born January 27, 1966) is an American spirits and cocktail writer and historian who writes both the Rum Wonk[1] and Cocktail Wonk [2] web sites as well as several books on these topics. Pietrek and his wife, Carrie Smith, publish books via their Wonk Press business.[3]

Previously, he was a computer specialist and author specializing in Microsoft Windows and wrote several books on the topic. Between 1993 and 2001 he wrote the column "Under the Hood" in MSJ (and subsequently) MSDN Magazine. Between 2004 and 2011 he worked at Microsoft on Visual Studio and Hyper-V.
