On 1 January 2012, Fremantle split Talkback Thames into four separate production companies, concentrating on specific genres which were Boundless for factual programming, Retort (later renamed Hare and Tortoise) for scripted comedy, Talkback for comedy, and Thames for mainstream entertainment. In 2018, the Boundless brand was updated, replacing its purple look for red. In 2020, Fremantle merged Boundless with Naked Entertainment, with the name of the new production label being "Naked".
