Raphidiophryidae is a family of mostly freshwater centrohelids. It is the sister family of Acanthocystidae, sharing the trait of presenting silica scales and comprising the clade Chalarothoracina.[1] Two genera, Raphidiophrys and Polyplacocystis, have been discovered so far.[2]
