Haria lost the first game, won the second, and eventually lost on the tiebreak 2.5-1.5.[3]

He gained his first GM norm in the 2016/17 4NCL British Team Championship, his second and third GM norms in August 2021 in a ten-player all-play-all in Stafford, England, and winning the Northumbria Masters in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He lifted his rating above the 2500 threshold in November 2021 when selected as board five for England in the European Team Championship in Slovenia.[4]
