Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime (also known as Xiaomi Redmi 4 Pro) are smartphones of Xiaomi that belongs to the Redmi line. They were presented on November 4, 2016 together with Xiaomi Redmi 4A.[1]

Design edit

The screen is made of glass. The case of smartphones is made of aluminum and has a plastic insert on top.

From the back, the smartphones look like Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. In terms of design, the smartphones differ only in the location of the flash (in the Redmi 4, it is to the right of the camera, and in the Redmi 4 Prime, it is on the left).

At the bottom are the microUSB connector, the speaker and the speaker-styled microphone. On top are 3.5 mm audio jack, a second microphone and IR port. On the left side there is a hybrid slot for 2 SIM cards or 1 SIM card and a micro SD format memory card up to 128 GB . On the right side are the volume buttons and the smartphone lock button. The fingerprint scanner is located on the back panel.

In Ukraine, Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime were sold in 3 colors: dark gray, silver and gold.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 received a Qualcomm Snapdragon 435 processor and an Adreno 505 graphics processor.[2]

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime received a processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 and a graphics processor Adreno 506.[3]

The battery received a volume of 4100 mAh.

Camera edit

Smartphones received a main camera of 13 MP, f/2.2 with phase autofocus and the ability to record video in resolution 1080p@30fps. The front camera received a resolution of 5 MP, an aperture of f/2.2 and the ability to record video in a resolution of 1080p@30fps.

Screen edit

Xiaomi Redmi 4 received a screen IPS LCD, 5.0", HD (1280 x 720) with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a pixel density of 296 ppi.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime received a screen IPS LCD, 5.0", FullHD (1920 x 1080) with an aspect ratio of 16:9 and a pixel density of 441 ppi.

Memory edit

Xiaomi Redmi 4 was sold in 2/16 GB configuration.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime was sold in the 3/32 GB configuration.

Software edit

Xiaomi Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime were launched on MIUI 8 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. Have been updated to MIUI 10.
