Rigan County (Persian: شهرستان ریگان) is in Kerman province, Iran. Its capital is the city of Mohammadabad.[3]

After the 2006 National Census, Gavkan, Gonbaki, and Rigan Rural Districts, and the city of Mohammadabad, were separated from Bam County in the establishment of Rigan County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with Mohammadabad as its capital and only city at the time.[3]
The census in 2011 counted 66,335 people in 17,598 households.[4] At the 2016 census, the county's population was 88,410 in 23,983 households.[2]
The population history and structural changes of Rigan County's administrative divisions over two consecutive censuses are shown in the following table. The latest census shows two districts, four rural districts, and one city.[2]
In 2019, the villages of Abbasabad-e Sardar and Rahmatabad were elevated to the status of cities.[5] In 2023, Gonbaki District was separated from the county in the establishment of Gonbaki County, which was divided into two districts of two rural districts each, with the city of Gonbaki as its capital and only city. At the same time, Posht-e Rig Rural District was established in the Central District, and Sadabad Rural District was established in the newly formed Rahmatabad District.[6]
