Saugeye is the name for the hybrid fish that results from spawning two closely related fishes: the sauger and the walleye. They share the characteristics of both fishes, and due to their relatively fast growth rate, adaptability to many environments, and sterility, they are frequently raised in hatcheries and stocked in inland reservoirs in the Midwest United States.
