Shentalinsky District (Russian: Шентали́нский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion), one of the twenty-seven in Samara Oblast, Russia. It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,338.2 square kilometers (516.7 sq mi).[3] Its administrative center is the rural locality (a railway station) of Shentala.[2] Population: 16,656 (2010 Census);[4] 18,288 (2002 Census);[9] 20,079 (1989 Census).[10] The population of Shentala accounts for 39.7% of the district's total population.[4]
