In Greek mythology, Theognete was the daughter of Laodicus. By Aeson, King of Iolcus, she was the mother of Jason[1] and possibly Promachus (Jason's brother).[2] In some accounts, she was called Arne;[3] Alcimede, daughter of Phylacus;[4] Polymede[5] (Polymele[6] or Polypheme[1]), daughter of Autolycus; Amphinome;[7] Rhoeo[8] or Scarphe.[3]
