In 1915, the school was founded as Chengzhi School of Science and Technology.
In 1946, the school was renamed as Beiping School.
In 1952, the school became the Tsinghua University Affiliated Junior High School.
In a 2016 ranking of Chinese high schools that send students to study in American universities, the school ranked tenth in mainland China in terms of the number of students entering top American universities.[2][3]
