History edit

The bridge was built in 1948 by the Pioneer Construction Company of Kansas City, Missouri, and is one of the finest Warren truss bridges in the region.[2]

A Warren truss bridge is a type of bridge structure that is widely used in civil engineering. It derives its name from the engineer James Warren, who patented the design in the mid-19th century.

The bridge was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.[1]
