William_Kay_(priest) Knowpia

William Kay DSO MC** (28 December 1894 – 6 January 1980^[1]) was an Anglican priest.^[2]

Born in Blackburn, he was educated at Durham University and ordained in 1919 after distinguished wartime service with the Manchester Regiment.^[3] He was a Curate at Rochdale and then Vicar of Cresswell, Derbyshire. Later he was Rural Dean of Newark^[4] before a 25-year stint^[5]^[6] as Provost of Blackburn Cathedral.^[7]
