Do Mixed-Breed Dogs Make Good Pets?

When selecting a pet dog, the breed is probably the primary concern among potential owners.  These days, mixed-breeds or mutts are becoming popular with most dog owners.  Mixed breeds are dogs whose parents are not the same breeds.  As opposed to purebreds whose parentage comes from the same breed.  Experts agree among them that mixed-breeds are much less likely to inherit genetic abnormalities than purebreds.  Due to this, mixed-breeds are typically longer-lived and healthier too.  Even though mixed breeds might still have defective genes in them, they usually are recessive characteristics.  One disadvantage to owning a mixed-breed dog is that his behaviors are likely to be unpredictable.  The parentage ancestry is not known because a mixed-breed dog might be the progeny of multiple bloodlines.  Due to this, mixed-breed dogs are not registered in certain national dog clubs. Dog owners consider mixed-breeds as unique when it comes to behavior and appearance.
