September to Remember

Well, we are not officially 5 days into September, but I want to quickly discuss my holiday weekend that just passed, it was quite eventful, to say the least. So many different things happened and I am so glad that I got to do them with my man, friends and my roommates.

Labor day weekend was totally one for the books. Saturday morning my man and I woke up and headed up to the local mountain resort area, but took a slight detour first to meet up with a group of buddies of his to shoot guns in the desert. We spent the first two hours of being there trying to help a friend get his truck out of soft sand (it had sunken in and the tires were just spinning). Finally, we got it out and set up tents and targets to get some shooting in, I didn't want to shoot the bigger guns, such as the AK, I just didn't feel comfortable with it. I choose to stick to shooting with the 9mm handgun. I hit a few of the targets and a couple of the empty propane tanks, I was quite impressed with myself, those targets weren't close either. After about two hours of target shooting practice, we left that group of friends and headed over to the cabin area where we originally planned to spend labor day weekend with a different group of friends. We had no strick timeline plan of when to arrive, so on our way to the cabin from shooting, we went to Costco, Target, and grabbed some late lunch and just took our time. We were enjoying the time and company of one another and were enjoying the holiday weekend.

We got to the cabin around dinner time on Saturday night and we all left down the hild back to our houses from the cabin on Monday around lunchtime to beat traffic. While up at the cabin though, we hung out talked, laughed, watched sports and moves. We also played drinking games like rage cage, phone games like a piccolo, cornhole and some volleyball. The lake was contaminated with algae so we didn't get to do that but maybe another trip up. There was a lot of drinking going on this past weekend. So much so, we had a blackboard keeping tallies of how many beers people were drinking all weekend and we successfully lined the deck railing one and a quarter times with beer cans. Since my man and I are not really beer drinkers we did not win the most for overall during the weekend, but we were okay with that. Plus we were a whole day behind since the rest of his friend group got there on Friday night. Two of my roommates ended up coming up on Sunday evening as well to hang out with us which was nice! There is one last piece of exciting news I'd like to share.

On August 31st, my man officially asked me to be his girlfriend, I could not have been more excited to hear him call me his girlfriend. I'm so proud of him and happy with where we are and whats going on in life. He's so supportive and brings me back to reality when I have crazy outlandish ideas or mental breakdowns. So all in all, it was a weekend to remember. Yesterday it was back to school and today is finally back to work. Looking forward to what else September brings me, I feel good things coming on. We are going down to San Diego this weekend, again the weekend after to shoot a wedding and the weekend after we'll be back up at the cabin for the start of October fest and two weeks after that the first weekend of October I will be traveling home for the weekend to get some fall clothes. So I'll be busy, busy the next couple of weeks and weekends. I'll do my best to keep you upto day as often as I can. Catch you on the flip side. Ciao!!
