Chillin like a Villain

Sup homies!! Happy Sunday, did you have a good day today, or a good weekend in general? Y'all know I traveled home this weekend, so I am in the airport once again, just waiting to board and fly home.

My day today has been super low-key, so this post will probably be pretty short. I woke up this morning around 8:30 a.m. and went downstairs to make my self some breakfast. Quick side note.

Let me share something will you, I struggle with my weight, when I graduated high school, years ago, I was at the heaviest weight I think I ever have been at. I am not going to tell you what I weighted but just imagine a 5 foot five girl who is ‘slim thick’. I set a goal for myself to make better eating choices and to really pay attention to my weight. Earlier this year I was at one of my lowest weights, down about 25 pounds from when I graduated. I recently weighed myself and I’m back close to my high school weight, which I am totally unhappy about. One thing that I noticed though, was that when I was down to my lightest weight, I was coaching gymnastics and moving around a lot in my day. Now I am back to working in an office and just sitting most of the day. Because of this, I know I need to be more diligent about my workout schedule and watch what foods I consume. I am not trying to get back to my lowest weight, I am just trying to feel comfortable in my skin and be the strongest version of me that I can be.

Okay back to my day, I made breakfast, which consisted of 5 asparagus’s cut in half, about 10 cherry tomatoes also cut in half, and two eggs over easy. I finished cooking and eating breakfast at about 8:50 a.m. and went upstairs to get ready for my day. I put on some jeans and a plain black v-neck t-shirt and my favorite rainbow flip-flops. I quickly did my makeup, eyeliner, mascara, and eyebrows and headed back downstairs. My mom and brother were down there as well and were ready to go.

We got into the car and headed to church, which started at 9:30 a.m., and we actually made it on time today, we’re usually 10 minutes late. Whoops, we’re not perfect, but we made it today, we were on top of it. Service was on how to control the emotion of anger in order to not let it destroy ourselves or those around us. Usually, when we are angry, it has an underlining root, such as unmet needs, unmet expectations, or insecurities. Without going into the whole hour teaching, when we feel angry, it’s important to take a moment to stop and evaluate why we are angry in order to attack the problem rather than the people in our lives. Once church was over, we headed back home for the day.

Our in-town guests were still with us for most of the day, so we played two family style games until they needed to head to the airport around 1:30 p.m. and while my parents took them to the airport, I stayed home and worked on a school project that is due tomorrow. Once my parents got back, my mom made snacks for us to munch on and we had an intimate family moment.

This year, my brother turns 25 and to me, that's a milestone, a quarter of a century. My mom presented him with an early gift which was a time capsule of stuff from his first birthday. It was super sweet and brought tears to our eyes on certain memories. I was so glad that I got to experience such an intimate time with my family and celebrate my brothers birthday 9 days early.

I finally did complete the communications assignment that I was working on all weekend, and around 5:30 p.m. my parents made the second trip to the airport to drop me off for my own flight back home. I currently am in the plane now finishing this post and will be landing in about twenty minutes. My amazing man will be picking me up, and I am so excited to see him, even though it's only been two days since I saw him last. I really enjoy spending time with him and like how I feel when I am around him. Well that all for now, I go back to school and work tomorrow so until then…Catch you on the flip side, Ciao!

P.S. I realized that this post is longer than I intended. whoops, thanks for sticking with me. Lol.
