Super Saturday

Hey y'all! I know I am writing this post late in the day, it's currently 11:10p where I am. Today has been crazy busy, so without further delay, let us dive into how today went. (I will be writing this post out as chronologically as I can, please bear with me).

My day started out around 9:00a when I woke up. I laid in bed for about twenty minutes just relaxing, before I finally got up, grabbed my laptop off my desk and walked downstairs to join my family and house guests for morning mimosas, coffee, and chit-chat. While they all sat in the kitchen and table bar area talking and drinking. I sat on the couch in the family room just a few steps away, only half listening to them. I opened my laptop, logged into my school's webpage and began attempting my statistics homework that I needed to complete by Monday night. Again, as mentioned earlier, statistics is not my friend. I got a four out of ten on my first attempt, I immediately tried again. The second time, I received a six out of ten. I tried a third time, but put my computer down part way through to make breakfast. It's about 10:15 a.m, and the rest of the clan was eating bacon and pancakes. I did not feel like eating that, so I made myself an onion, bell pepper, mushroom, and broccoli omelet. Breakfast was actually quite excellent if I do say so myself haha. I quickly returned back to my stats homework, receiving an eight out of ten the third time, and can yall guess my fourth attempt score... yep ten out of ten!! So proud of myself and happy for finishing my stats homework. I closed my laptop and headed upstairs, which was perfect timing to be done with homework. My sister had just arrived with my niece and two other kids she used to work with (who are not my favorite children).

Once I was upstairs, I took my time taking off the last bit of makeup I had on from the day before (I passed out hard last night). I face-timed with my man right before bed, and when we got off the phone, I put my head down and I don't even remember anything else. I straight knocked out instantly. This is beside the point right now, I took off my makeup, grabbed my clothes for the day and went to the bathroom to shower. I had to ask my mom to bring me, my towel, I had left it in my room on accident, moms always are there for you!! I finally got dressed for my day, reapplied some basic makeup such as lightener under my eyes, eyeliner, mascara, bronzer, and I filled in my eyebrows. Took me only about 10 minutes to do the whole thing, so not too long. I eventually went back downstairs and began to help my mom in the kitchen, making appetizers and snacks for the afternoon. (By the way, if I haven't mentioned, today was the family pool get together day, hence why we're making appetizers and snacks). We made homemade hummus, we also had chips and salsa, watermelon, pineapple, pretzels, and other various snacks.

The house was a busy place to be, my mom, stepdad, brother and myself were all there. Plus we have other out of town guests staying with us, who are my stepdad's cousin and his wife. Then for the party today, my sister, her husband their infant daughter, plus the two girls my sister used to work with came over. As well as my oldest brother, his wife, their two kids and two dogs. Additionally, my aunt and two cousins were over, as well as another one of my stepdad's cousins, her husband, and their daughter. So there were a lot of people hanging out today, and it ultimately was really nice. People swam in the pool, people hung out in the backyard talking, we barbequed, it turned out to be a really nice day. I was able to see my nieces and nephew and catch up with my oldest sister-in-law which is always nice, I miss her since I moved away.

I did at one point, excuse myself from the party to grab my laptop to do some homework research for an assignment that I have due first thing Monday morning for school. I'm going, to be honest with you guys, I found some great articles that I could use for the assignment, but I ended up falling asleep for a quick power nap, I was quite tired. I knew tomorrow Sunday would be a little chaotic as well. I will be attending church in the morning, followed by ensuring I have everything to fly home. We will be taking our house guests to the airport around 1:30 p.m., followed by my own need to be at the airport by 5:30 p.m. for my 7:00 p.m. flight home. I also took a walk today with one of my brother's dogs, just because I felt like I needed to get out for a little bit. It wasn't a far or long walk, we went about 0.65 of a mile and were only gone about 15 minutes.

We had burgers for dinner, but honestly, I wasn't super hungry, we had been snacking all afternoon. I did eventually convince myself it was probably healthy for me to consume something. I ended up eating just the hamburger meat with some ketchup and some potato chips to honor National French Fry Day. Little different potato form, but same idea, so I'm gonna say that it works. By the end of dinner, most of the guests had left, we said our last few 'goodbyes', I washed dishes to clean the kitchen and headed outback with the crew staying in the house. We ate some sweets and just talked about the day, as well as random facts and topics. We were enjoying the gorgeous night and the beautiful backyard that my parents have worked hard to create. As it got later and later, I excused myself five minutes before 11:00 p.m. so that I could begin getting ready for bed and could get this post written about today. I am seriously half falling asleep trying to write this for you guys. It has been a long day, and I have a full morning with family before traveling back home and getting to spend some time in the evening with my man. So here to what was a great day, and hoping Sunday goes well for you all too. Catch you on the flip side... Ciao!
