The new Dacia Sandero and Sandero Stepway are available

The Dacia Sandero has changed from a simple cheap offer to an attractive small car with more luxury and safety. If you don't need a rolling status symbol, buy a Dacia - at least that's what the advertising says. Many car buyers see it that way, because Dacia has established itself very successfully on the market as a cheap offshoot of Renault.

The Dacia Sandero third generation is available from 8,490 euros, the crossover variant in the style of an SUV called Dacia Sandero Stepway costs from 11,390 euros. The offshoot has a higher body, plastic planks on the sides and a suggested underrun protection. Compared to the normal Sandero, the Stepway has around four centimeters more ground clearance, but still no all-wheel drive.

The interior is also contemporary, instead of large-scale plastic deserts, there is now a more detailed design in which the still somewhat simple cladding materials are less noticeable. In the higher equipment lines, fabric and chrome applications as well as the touchscreen multimedia system additionally enhance the ambience.

When it comes to drive , the Dacia relies on economical and inexpensive technology. The entry point is a 1.0-liter three-cylinder with 48 kW / 65 PS, alternatively a turbo version with 66 kW / 90 PS is available, for which a continuously variable automatic transmission is offered in addition to the six-speed manual transmission. In order to reduce the CO₂ emissions in the fleet, the Sandero has a version with cheaper LPG technology instead of expensive electrification.

With the Sandero, there is a car that drives as modern as it looks for comparatively little money.
