Idaho in 48 hours

Hi-de-ho! What's shaking bacon? Well, it's Thursday night, and I've had a pretty full week, to say the least. I hope your week has been splendid as well, and if not, TGIF tomorrow! I realized I never wrote about yesterday's adventure so I'll write a pharagraph or two on that and then finish up with day's adventure.

Yesterday was the main event of my trip, and dang, was it chaotic. I set my alarms for 8:30a so that I would actually get out of bed by 9:00a and have enough time to get ready and eat breakfast before my big day. Well as yall already know, I am NOT a morning person. I'd rather wake up naturally and slowly lollygag out of bed. So that's what I did yesterday. When my alarm went off I just kept turning it off until finally, it was 9:30a and my dad and I were supposed to be leaving in 30 minutes. I managed to pull my life together and be ready right at 10:00a. We loaded up in the truck and headed to the main town of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho which is about 45 minutes to an hour away. We had a ziplining tour day planned. The meeting time for the tour was at 11:00a and the tour left for the mountain at 11:30a. Well, good thing we had a 30-minute buffer because it took us longer to get down there than expected and parking sucked. The lot right by the main lodge in Coeur d'Alene is paid by the hour but of course, God was testing our patience and every pay station was used and moving slowly. We ran back to the truck and moved it across the park to the free parking and then ran to the lodge. We got there at 11:25a, yikes!! Meanwhile, my man is trying to have a semi-serious texting conversation with me about a hard drive that he's ordering up here by me so that I can use it to store my media from this trip. He was trying to be helpful but with my chaotic morning, I was a bit snarky to him and snapped. I felt bad and apologized but of course, he's too good for me and simply said, we all have bad days, we're a team.

My dad and I finally made it to the lodge and checked in to do our waivers and got all suited up in our harnesses and gear. We then loaded up in a van with six other people in our group and headed up to the mountain with all the ziplines. The drive was beautiful, but kind of long, about twenty minutes from the main lodge where we met. After the van drive, we then got into a six-passenger ATV thing and took about a three to four-minute drive further up the mountain. There were seven ziplines each getting longer and higher off the ground. Additionally, there were two auto-belay platforms that required us to jump off. The whole adventure took about two and a half hours from start to finish. It was such a good experience and the views were spectacular. I highly recommend Timberland Adventures if you ever find yourself in Northern Idaho near Coeur d'Alene. That was yesterday, the evening was pretty low-key, we went out to dinner at a BBQ place and I had Idaho Nachos were normal nachos but with Idaho potato tater-tots. Wow, it was good. I might have a picture...

Today was a very slow pace day which was nice after yesterdays morning madhouse and busy day adventure. We still left the house by 10:30a this morning my dad and I. We spent about 90 minutes kayaking around this one local lake, which was quite calm, peaceful and relaxing. Then we headed over to the local 'beach' and kayaked around over there for about another hour or so before heading home to eat lunch. After lunch, we headed into town so I could look at one last thing I was considering getting as a gift for my man's parents and his puppy. I bought both and am super excited to show them their gifts. I am flying to my hometown to visit some other family tomorrow, but like a dummy, I forgot to check into my flight. I fly southwest because of a rewards program my family is affiliated with and because I'm a broke college student and their flights are pretty cheap. When I checked in, I got group B assignment 60. ALL the way in the back and end. Oh well, the flight from Washington (that's the closet airport to northern Idaho) to my hometown is only about 2 hours or so. Not awful, my family played some outdoor games tonight, we looked at media from this past week, watched a movie and now we're all in our rooms getting ready for bed. I am pretty tired and have an early morning. We will be grabbing breakfast as a family before I head to the airport, only a few more days left of vacation for me. I officially fly home and head back to the reality of work on Monday. School starts on Thursday and I am so NOT ready for it. Enjoying vacation while I can. Hope you guys have a great start to your weekend ahead, as always. Catch you on the flip side, Chiao!!
