Kyzylsky District (Russian: Кызы́лский кожуун; Tuvan: Кызыл кожуун, Kızıl kojuun) is an administrative[1] and municipal[6] district (raion, or kozhuun), one of the seventeen in the Tuva Republic, Russia. It is located in the center of the republic. Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Kaa-Khem.[1] Population: 27,659 (2010 Russian census);[3] 22,678 (2002 Census);[8] 22,205 (1989 Soviet census).[9] The population of Kaa-Khem accounts for 54.4% of the district's total population.[3]
