Nikolayevsky District (Russian: Никола́евский райо́н) is an administrative district (raion), one of the thirty-three in Volgograd Oblast, Russia.[1] As a municipal division, it is incorporated as Nikolayevsky Municipal District.[5] It is located in the northeast of the oblast. The area of the district is 3,440 square kilometers (1,330 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Nikolayevsk.[2] Population: 32,034 (2010 Russian census);[3] 34,285 (2002 Census);[7] 35,145 (1989 Soviet census).[8] The population of Nikolayevsk accounts for 47.1% of the district's total population.[3]
