Since CA is a professional qualification in India, therefore, it is governed by a professional body known as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). ICAI sets & conducts the exams, lays out the rules, and regulates the standards of the CA examinations.

To clear the CA examination and to become a CA, one needs to absorb large chunks of information and undertake a deep understanding of all the subjects. It also requires a lot of hard work and perseverance.

The most crucial part while preparing for the CA examination, is PLANNING. Planning for the CA exam preparation includes the right set of rules and regulations and sticking to the plan till the very end. If you succeed in doing so, it will pave a way for you to the road to success.

Make a proper time table and dedicate specific hours for particular subjects like Accounts, Business Mathematics, Statistics, and Finance. Apart from that, make sure that you are also spending enough time on solving sample papers, CA intermediate mock tests, and previous year question papers. Brushing up on your accounting and advance accounting courses for CA is the key to a successful examination attempt.

Students with Commerce, Science, and Arts background can take admission in the CA course. After completion of the 12th standard, students can take the admission in the CA program through CPT (Common Proficiency Test). Cut-off marks for the CPT test are 50%.

A candidate can pursue the Chartered Accountancy course through two different methods. One is the Foundation Course Route and the other Direct Entry Route. The Foundation Course is the entry point to the course after the 12th standard and Direct Entry is for candidates who are graduates.

There are four stages of the CA course as mentioned below:

1.        Foundation

2.        IPCC (Integrated Professional Competence Course)

3.        Article ship (Duration-3 years)

4.        CA- Final

Your focus should be on understanding the basic concepts. This can be done by covering your whole syllabus and by making notes easily and understandably.

Attempting mock tests within the given time frame is another great way of improving your confidence. You should try taking at least three mock test papers. How much you can grasp while studying is more important than how much time do you study.
