What is a Pedicure treatment?

Pedicures are a beauty treatment that involves the toenails and feet. Pedicure treatments can vary, but they often include soaking the feet in the water or scrubbing them with an exfoliating foot scrub, then trimming nails before polishing them either with nail polish or a clear protective coating.

Spa Pedicure at home, is it possible?

Spa pedicures can be done at home as well as in a nail salon. If you do them at home, it is important that you follow the steps of soaking your feet and scrubbing with an exfoliating foot scrub before polishing nails or applying protective coats. But vibrant salon & spa recommends the treatment should be done at nail salon for best results.  I am going to share next the complete steps for the best DIY pedicure treatment.

You will need a pedicure kit to do the treatment at home. The following items should be included in that kit.

7 DIY Spa Pedicure Steps

Follow these simple spa pedicures step to achieve professional results at home.

  1. Drench your feet in a foot bath of hot water and Epsom salt for up to 15 minutes. You can also add lavender essential oil if desired.

  2. Use the brush's bristles on each nail to remove any dirt that may have collected there since you last washed them using lukewarm soapy water or a bar of antibacterial soap, being careful not to scrub too hard as this can lead to damage such as thinning nails or dry skin around the nails.

  3. Using a cuticle cutter, gently nip at the dead skin surrounding your cuticles (avoiding actually cutting right into it) until they are lifted away from the base of your fingers. Next, use a wooden spoon handle or similar tool with a rounded shape to push back the cuticles.

  4. Now apply any skin moisturizer or oil near the cuticle to help further soften them.

  5. Turn your fingers over so that they are fully exposed, and use a nail file with coarse grits to gently exfoliate the top layer of the nail, smoothing out any ridges or imperfections on its surface.

  6. Use small scissors (or clippers) to snip off any excess hair from around your nails before you begin filing, using long strokes going away from your palms for about two minutes each foot.

  7. Dry feet, then apply Nail Polish Remover Wipes if desired. Apply one coat of basecoat followed by two coats of color polish and finish off with a topcoat.
