1st
Step:
In the very first step, the metal sheet is
marked with a compass and cut by the Artisan (according to the size and design).
This cutting is done with the help of a
metal sheet cutter.
2nd
Step:
This silver wire is made soft using a hand
gas burner. With the help of heat, this wire is then bent to the desired shape.
3rd
Step:
This shaped wire is then placed on the
silver sheet after which the wire is heated so that it gets fused with the
sheet.
4th
Step:
This entire arrangement is dipped in a
solution of water-soluble flux paste. It helps to fill in the gaps left between
the sheet and the wire.
5th
Step:
The sheet is then decorated with the silver
motifs that are made with silver wires.
6th
Step:
Extra area in the sheet is then removed by
the Artisan with the help of a cutter. The sharp edges are smoothened using a
filer.
7th Step:
After all of the above-mentioned steps are
completed then artisans work on the detailing part of the jewellery piece
followed by the soldering of the clasps.
8th
Step:
The final piece is then polished followed
by enameling. This step is done to give a neat look to the Gujrat jewellery
piece.
