Dogs Vs. Cats; that has been the conversation for ages. Which is better? Is one even better than the other? This really just opinion based since each animal has their own quality, but it is an interesting debate. There are certain parts of the world that loves cats, far more than dogs. And then there's other parts of the world that prefers dogs to cats. Many people believe dogs to be more loyal than cats but there are some who disagree. I myself have had both dogs and cats and both have been very loyal. But, I will say the dogs have the cats beat on the loyalty part.
A major benefit of cats is though is that they are extremely low maintenance. I have a puppy right now and sometimes I feel like I have a child. Some people don't like that comparison but it's true. They are extremely high maintenanced and require lots of attention and training. Cats on the other hand are beyond easy. There is no potty training needed because once you show them the litter box and where it's located, they will automatically use that for the bathroom. They also are pretty good about the amount of food they need to eat. So, if you would like to free feed, you can. Some people still don't recommend free feeding cats but it's really just a personal choice. If they seem to only eat what they need and not more, then it's a viable option. Cats do like to be played with, but not nearly as much as puppies. Puppies DEMAND that you play with them and then pee within a few minutes of play. Potty training is no fun.
It's such a personal and important decision on deciding the type of pet you want. If you know you don't have the time to take care of a dog but need a furry companion (if you aren't allergic,) then cats are the way to go. But, if you are looking for a companion that will be your best friend, a dog is a great choice. I plan on having a dog and a cat because I love both of them equally, but that's just my preference. They have so much to offer and in different ways and they both have their challenges.
