The days of manual printing are behind us, and today the massive world of printing is divided into two large areas: digital printing and offset printing. The first cancels the mechanical procedures but increases costs when it is printed massively, which is detrimental to advertising.
Given that, offset printing arises as
an alternative. This type of printing, which retains some mechanical
steps, does not decrease in quality at any time. It is the type of
high-volume printing that is most used worldwide, and works with printing on an
aluminum plate of the image to be reproduced. Some of its most outstanding
advantages in the advertising field are:
1. Savings
in printing large quantities
Although digital printing is cheaper
when the quantity of printed matter is much smaller, if it is mass printing,
offset printing becomes a necessity. Using a plate that will reproduce
hundreds or thousands of times the same image will be extremely efficient in
this regard. Printers are mainly responsible for printing of this type.
2. High-quality
image printing
Contrary to what may be collective
thinking, offset
printing is of the highest quality, being able to involve different types
of finishes with maximum precision on many materials. In addition,
advertising requires a very large volume of printing. Nowadays, regardless
of the quantity of printed matter, the quality tends to be very high.
3. Possibility
of printing on multiple surfaces
Versatility is another of the great
points in favor of offset printing, especially applied in the field of
advertising. Although digital printing increasingly increases its field of
printing materials, nothing still beats the little time that offset printing
invests in different materials other than paper, such as wood, leather,
plastic, metal, among many others.
4. Sharper
color
Digital printing works on a four-color
system, which after mixing you get the rest. In other words, it is a
process that consists of simulating the rest of the colors resulting from the
use of the four basic ones. However, in offset printing there is more
quality and sharpness in color, since there is no such simulation and it can be
captured in the printing of real colors.
