The Bachelorette

The Bachelor / Bachelorette franchise created by Mike Fleiss is one of the most successful franchises in television.

As an untraditional dating show, fans of the Bachelor dubbed “Bachelor Nation” never hesitate to voice their opinions every Monday night on Twitter as the show is airing. This season’s Bachelorette, Hannah Brown, has been criticized and praised for her bluntness and honesty throughout this season on her journey to find a husband.

The show’s format of having 30 contestants trying to win over one man or woman is extremely controversial but has been normalized among viewers. When people critique the crazy things done on the show, I wonder if they ever take a step back and think about the show they’re watching. In a time period of around 2 months, 2 complete strangers meet and get engaged by the end of the show, is there anything 'traditional' about that?

This season has been my least favorite season that I've watched.  Most of Hannah's men or contestants seem to be kinda crazy. And, like they're just seeking fame. Although most of them probably are, as the Bachelor has become an 'easy' way for people to become famous, they're not doing a good job of hiding it. One contestant that I think seems genuine is Tyler C. He seems to be very caring and always stands up for The Bachelorette. The controversial and entertaining 'Men Tell All' episode airs tonight, and I'm excited to tune in.
