Her mother Ujjala Padukone is a travel agent and sister Anisha Padukone is a golfer. In November 2018, she married actor Ranveer Singh and wedding ceremony took place in Sindhi and Konkani style at Lake Como, Italy.
Career
She did her schooling from Sophia High School, Bengaluru, and later attended Mount Carmel College, Bengaluru for her pre-university education. She then enrolled in Indira Gandhi National Open University, New Delhi for Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology but quit due to scheduling conflicts with her modelling career.
She started working as a model under the guidance of fashion guru Prasad Bidapa in 2004. In 2005, she walked the ramp for designer Suneet Varma at the Lakme Fashion Week.
In 2006, she made her acting debut with the Kannad film Aishwarya in a lead role.
She made her Bollywood debut from Farah Khan’s movie Om Shanti Om in a lead role opposite superstar Shahrukh Khan.
In 2017, she made her debut in Hollywood with the film “XXX: Return of Xander Cage.”
Chhapaak (2020) was the first film under his own production company Ka Productions.
Deepika Padukone is the chairperson of the Mumbai Academy of the Moving Image and is the founder of the Live Love Laugh Foundation which creates awareness on mental health in India.
