It's already happened. You drank way too much last night and probably didn't eat enough before hand and may have already been dehydrated. There are many reasons why we get such terrible hangovers but one thing is for certain, it sucks. Majorly. Now that you are in this nauseous and generally painful state, what do you do? Maybe just lay there and hope the pain goes away? You could, but it won't help you out much or quickly. Here are a few tips to actually get that hangover done and out of the way.
Number one recommendation is to hydrate. And I'm not talking about just drinking water. When you are already severely dehydrated (which is essentially what a hangover is) you can potentially make yourself feel worse by drinking copious amount of water. Why? Because you will be watering down the vitamins and minerals you still have left in your system which is actually potentially dangerous. So, what do you do? Drink Pedialyte. It is extremely concentrated so you only need a little at a time. At the same time you can be drinking water as well.
What about food? Stick with the "BRAT" diet. Bananas, Rice, Applesauce, and Toast. It will be easy for your body to digest. Saltine crackers are a must as well. Green tea with ginger helps as well. The ginger will help reduce some of that pesky nausea. Some people actually like to eat greasy food to cure their hangover, which may help with some people. But obviously for some this can be very unappealing.
