When I turned 11 years old I was able to be a Boy Scout. It is what started to shaped my life. At age 62 I can repeat these words like it was yesteryear. I have lived by these words most of my life.

and Reverent.
At age 17 a friend asked me to go to a Outward bound wilderness school. It cost $1000 in 1971. I worked for one year to save for that summer adventure. This was our mission statement that is embeded in my brain.
"To Serve, To Strive, and Not To Yield"
“There is more in us than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps for the rest of our lives we will be unwilling to settle for anything less”
--Kurt Hahn, Founder c.1896
At age 34 I followed in my fathers footsteps, I was number 5 out of 700 aplicants for the Fire dept. There was only 1 opening. The chief through interviews can pick any of the 5. He gave me the job. So you go back to the top of the page, and this is what the Chief was looking for, it is what he saw in me.
