I'm sure most of you have heard of the term "horoscope" and may have even looked up your own from time to time. They are associated with your zodiac sign and usually give you some sort of idea of what the future will hold. It's odd to me, though, as there is no scientific backing for the concept. Horoscopes and zodiac signs have zero scientific evidence behind them yet people choose to believe them similar to that of a religion. Why is that?
There is an interesting history behind astrology and it can seem more "legitimate" for people that don't follow religion as much as others. So, maybe this is why people believe it? Because they are looking for something they can't seem to get from a religion? A premonition for their life but it's coming from the stars rather than a mythical history? These are all many possibilities as to why people tend to gravitate towards horoscopes and zodiac signs to tell them about their day and their mood. It might just be another form of comfort for all of the random occurrences in our day to day life that we can't possibly cope with unless there is a reason behind it that is out of our control. These are just my thoughts.
