I lived in San Francisco for 4-5 months (fall semester), I was a student athlete for Academy of Art University of San Francisco. When I went to SF for the first time, it was for an athletic visit. I saw the city and I thought is was amazing because it was something I've never seen before.
As a student athlete it was tough with long 3-5 hour classes, transportation was a pain, and practice were cutting close to class. When I committed to ART U, my thoughts and hopes were to rebuild the program with a new coaching and new players.
To be honest living a city was a complete nightmare. I had loud neighbors, homeless people are yelling outside every night, people honking their horns 24/7. One day after class, I was walking back home and all of a sudden, a homeless man spit on the side of my face and was cussing me out. Scariest moment! I thought I was going to get my butt kicked so I ran away.
If you were to go to SF I would recommend having an itinerary. I honestly don't ever want to go back there, it was one of the worst places I lived at.
