What can you really say about this day... April 1st otherwise known as April Fools day or All Fools day. It's a day where you wake up and if you don't remember the date or even care about it you wake up to a pregnant girlfriend or your best guy friend proclaiming his undying love for you. Regardless both may be completely true on any other day, but probably not on April 1st. No one knows the true historical background of how April Fools day came about. They say there are speculations that it dates back to 1582, when France switched from the Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, as called for by the Council of Trent in 1563 where those who confused the calendars dressed in costumes and disguises (in other words looked like fools at the wrong time of the calendar). However, it was also tied to the vernal equinox, or first day of spring in the Northern Hemisphere, when Mother Nature fooled people with changing, unpredictable weather. There are several historical circumstances that make April 1st a day for fools.
