Maybe the last words spoken by Captain James Cook, RN, today, 238 years ago. Killed,cooked, & feasted on over a stolen rowboat, misunderstanding, broken Kapu laws, or just being stupid.
This all took place down at Kealakekua Bay, at the landing to the village of Ka'awaloa. This is the view we see from our living room window. I have stood on this lava rock 100's of times, today, no one will even give it a thought as they enjoy this place where history is carved by a "X" on the spot. For what it represents....the beginning of the end of the native people of Hawaii.
