With the release of Mario Kart 8 for Nintendo Switch, On April twenty, over 650 Target stores across the country switched out their traditional red shopping carts with "Mario Kart" inspired shopping carts that include Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach. This may be the first time Target has adorned its classic red carts but may not be the last.

The stores additionally feature huge spherical Mario and Luigi bollards, and the entrances are reworked into race starting lines.

This clever marketing strategy is only expected to last a few weeks. I look forward to seeing what else Target can develop to lure in shoppers.
